Bonding is excellent for minor cosmetic fixes where you want to preserve your natural tooth structure.

The 1-Hour Process

Unlike veneers, bonding rarely requires anesthesia or lab work. It's truly "artistry in the chair."

1. Shade Match

We use a shade guide to select a composite resin color that blends perfectly with your natural enamel.

2. Preparation

The surface of the tooth is roughened slightly, and a conditioning liquid is applied. This helps the bonding material adhere securely.

3. Application

The tooth-colored, putty-like resin is applied, molded, and smoothed to the desired shape.

4. Polish

We harden the material with a UV light, then trim and polish it until it matches the sheen of the rest of your tooth.

Frequently Asked Questions

Not at all. Since we rarely need to drill or remove natural tooth structure, dental bonding is usually performed without any anesthesia. You can drive yourself home immediately after.

No. The resin material does not respond to whitening gel. If you plan to whiten your teeth, we recommend doing the whitening treatment before your bonding appointment so we can match the resin to your new, brighter shade.

This is one of the advantages of bonding—it is very easy to repair. If you chip the resin by biting something hard, simply come back in and we can add more material to smooth it out in minutes.
