Making Treatment Work
Cost should not be the reason a tooth goes untreated. Between direct billing, written estimates up front, financing to spread larger treatment out, and government coverage, there is usually a way to make it work. Ask us — it is a normal conversation to have.
Payment is due at the time of service for whatever your plan does not cover — and we will have told you that number beforehand.
We bill most major insurers directly — Pacific Blue Cross, Sun Life, Manulife, Canada Life and many more. You pay only your portion, at the visit, rather than paying everything and waiting to be reimbursed. See accepted insurers.
Before any significant treatment we can send a pre-determination to your insurer. They reply in writing with what they will cover, so you see the real out-of-pocket number before you agree to anything. It takes a few weeks, so it is worth starting early.
For larger treatment — implants, crowns, dentures, full-mouth work — we offer financing so the cost can be spread over time instead of paid in one go. The right option depends on the treatment and on you, so call our reception team and they will go through what is available.
If your annual maximum will not stretch, we can often begin treatment in one benefit year and finish it in the next, drawing on two maximums. It only works when the treatment can safely wait — we will tell you honestly whether yours can. More on benefit timing.
The Canadian Dental Care Plan now covers a large number of Canadian residents without private dental insurance. If you have not been to a dentist in years because of cost, it is genuinely worth checking whether you qualify — a lot of people are eligible and do not realise it.
About CDCP coverageThis is not a sales line, it is how decay behaves. A small cavity restored early is a filling. Left alone, it reaches the dentine and accelerates, and becomes a larger filling. Larger still and the tooth needs a crown. Reach the nerve and it is a root canal plus a crown. Past that, the tooth comes out and you are looking at an implant or a bridge.
Each step up that ladder costs several times the one before it. If money is the reason you have been waiting, the cheapest moment to act is almost always now — and that is exactly what payment options exist for.
Call and ask about payment options — no commitment, no pressure. Our reception team has this conversation every day.
Financing availability and terms depend on the treatment and on approval by the provider. Our reception team will explain the current options when you call.
